Note: This isn't exactly "theorizing," per say, as unlike Boots and his class/aspect theories, I'm not saying that the patterns I see are necessarily an intentional part of the Sburb mythos on Hussie's part. This is me just trying to make sense of things.

Actually, what inspired me to think of this in the first place was something that was nagging me about Boot's Aspect Wheel. For the most part, the aspect wheel represents the only theorizing Boots has come up with that I completely agree with. Although softowl has stated on mspaf and reddit that Classpect Inversion Is Not A Thing, and I think she's right, that doesn't preclude the existence of complementary aspects as implied by Calliope - and the complementary aspect pairs Boots details make sense with the knowledge we have of canon.

But the arrangement of the aspects in the wheel bothers me. Specifically, Light/Void in relation to Space/Time. Superficially, yes, Light is like Space and Life because it represents Skaian "Goodness", and Void is like Time and Doom in having close ties to Derse and destruction. But Void must have some relation to Space, just as Life and Hope have relations to Breath, if its aspect symbol is anything to go by. And the comic appears to imply some powerful connection between Void and Life (Hermera and Nyx, the Rings), and parallels between Void and Hope.

And while Void does involve darkness, nothingness, and obfuscation, it's also strongly involved with creation, as seen not just from the Rogue, but also from the Page, and from Rose's rant about apples and shit. In fact, that's the one thing I can think of whenever I try to figure out what could possibly tie Void to Space AND Hope AND Life: Creation. Broad, vast, creative potential and power.

Which is something that Light does not have. Light gives things brought out of the Void form, structure, and existence outside of some hypothetical platonic ideal, but it itself doesn't make new things or create. And Light does not have the sense of broad, expansive scope that the other aspects at the top of Boot's wheel have. In fact, Light's domain literally deals more with Time than Space - deciding "fortunate"/"luckiest" future (not creating one, but selecting from the numerous possibilities - however unlikely - that are already branched off from the alpha timeline's "present" in Paradox Space) and making it reality, altering physical reality through manipulation of the timeline (as opposed to affecting the events of the timeline by altering physical reality.) This focus on the 4th dimension and the fated future is also shared with Doom, if our (limited) understanding of the aspect via Sollux is correct. Rage, largely theorized to be an antitheses of Hope, doesn't appear to have such connections to timelines or fate, but if (IF) theorists are correct about Rage being the cynicism to Hope's idealistic faith, then there is a possible quartet pattern converse to Void/Space/Life/Hope as Broad Creative Potential: Light/Time/Doom/Rage as...I don't know how to say this. Linear Strategization Within a Structured Framework? Focused Reality Selection With Limited Resources? Process Of Elimination?

The challenge of the former is to learn to see their own power/talent/ability/strength (and I don't just mean in the magic sburb sense), to not say "b-b-but I can't! It's impossible! because reasons!", to know what limits on what they can and can't do are just in their head, and to take initiative and produce real change instead of dillydallying on what is really just a colossal waste of time.

The challenge of the latter is to make the most of the options they have, to not fall into apathy or let themselves be drained of willpower in the face of what they can't make happen, or of the things they could've done but no longer can. And to accept that not every detail of their lives is important or needs to have meaning.

Not sure where Blood, Breath, Mind, and Heart fit in this scheme. May write more later.
